In the quiet hills of Mt. St. George, Tobago, there’s a place where passion meets purpose — where the art of food, service, and sustainability come together to shape the island’s tourism future. That place is the Tobago Hospitality & Tourism Institute (THTI).

Since opening its doors in 1997, THTI has been a cornerstone for developing Tobago’s hospitality, tourism, and culinary talent.
But beyond textbooks and training kitchens, it’s cultivating something deeper... A new generation of professionals who understand that true hospitality starts with care for people, place, and planet.

From farm-to-fork learning and hands-on culinary experiences to meaningful partnerships with local brands like Twigs Naturals, THTI is helping to weave sustainability into every aspect of Tobago’s tourism ecosystem.
Students don’t just learn to cook or manage; they learn to celebrate Tobago’s unique food heritage while protecting what makes it special.
Each programme; from Culinary Arts and Food & Beverage Operations to Hospitality and Tourism Studies, prepares students to lead with intention and create experiences that honor Tobago’s identity as a sustainable island destination.
As someone who tells the stories behind Tobago’s food and drink culture, I see THTI as a living classroom for the island’s next generation of eco-conscious and sustainable chefs, hosts, and storytellers; each one ready to redefine what hospitality means in a changing world.

Why It Matters
THTI is not just training talent, it’s nurturing a movement toward responsible, sustainable tourism where every dish, service, and smile tells a story of local pride and global awareness.
If you’re a student, business, or creative who believes in sustainable food, drinks, and destination storytelling, now’s the time to connect with THTI, support their initiatives, or collaborate to spotlight Tobago’s growing eco and sustainable hospitality culture.

Let’s keep the conversation and the inspiration flowing. Follow their journey at www.thti.edu.tt and stay tuned as I continue sharing stories that celebrate Tobago’s sustainable food and tourism evolution.
